What part of modern American society is a result of the traditions and cultures of Native Americans?

The Native Americans living in the  Americas when the Europeans arrived all have vibrant and complex cultures where one of the central features in many was living in harmony with the environment and having a profound respect for nature.  Many of the outdoor activities we enjoy as North Americans are based on indigenous activities: such as canoeing, tobogganing, lacrosse, running relay  races, and snowshoeing.   A lot of the foods we eat were indigenous to the Americas like corn, tomatoes, avocados, and chocolate.  It has been said that the Iroquois Nation was the inspiration for the federal government structure in the United States.  Benjamin Franklin said the division of powers between the federal and state governments was inspired by the Iroquios.  A number of the states are actually Native American terms, Minnesota for example. It is a Dakota word that means whitish water or sky-tinted water.
