Europeans are not content with fossil fuels as a long-term energy source because they are not renewable. Fossil fuels cannot be reused, so there is a limited supply of them. Although there is still a good supply of fossil fuels, experts agree that the increasing needs of the world’s population will eventually exhaust the supply of fossil fuels. The other problem with fossil fuels, primarily coal and oil, is that they contribute to a growing air pollution problem. Coal, which is cheap and in the greatest supply, also is a major contributor to air pollution. Europeans are committed to finding a source of energy that burns clean and is renewable.
