Mary was inebriated due to consumption of alcohol and was unconscious. On their arrival at home, Bigger carried her to her bedroom and could not avoid the temptation of kissing her. And suddenly, Mary's blind mother came into the room. As a result of his hatred and fear, Bigger accidentally killed Mary Dalton using a pillow to suffocate her to death.
