Spanish armadas and fearful conquistadors had become a force to reckon with and were the first to colonize the Americas where they spread their religion quickly and even now because of that most of Americas except for Us is predominantly catholic.

They had much antagonism with Britain because they were protestant and vied for power against them more often than not in the time of the imperialistic campaigns where the British ultimately succeeded but in mainland Europe Spain was able to exert influence.
