The biggest achievement of ancient Mesopotamia was the development of a system of writing. They were the first to introduce cuneiform system of writing, wheel and chariots and build cities.

They invented the concept of time and the clock system. They were also the first to discover a strong monarchical form of government. Sun dried bricks were used to build cities and the ancient people paid taxes to the king for the development of urban areas.
