Scaffolding reading is done to actual simplify the material in a way that it becomes easier for the students to understand it. A teach would break down the information or activity into digestible chunks that would be easier for a student to grasp.

This can be done by linking the new information to the preexisting Information that the students may have so that it becomes easier to understand.
