In this case, though the news would be genuinely true, but adding on unnecessary made-up details will, definitely spoil the authenticity of the news. That will further drive away the originality of the events that would have actually happened.

The main motive of news is to provide a clear image of all the incidents that happen. But in the process of adding the flair of interest, the real story gets lost into it. Thus, turning the news into a fake news.
