Petroleum is a non-renewable source of energy and still forms the backbone of the automobile industry. The loss of this fuel will be the greatest loss in every sphere of life. Automobiles, machinery and other tools which use petrol will have to be designed to accommodate other alternatives sources of energy. Efforts will be put to discover alternatives sources. Infrastructure would be set up for these alternatives. Petrol will be substituted with these alternatives in every industry. Other sources of energy will mostly include renewable alternatives.
