What event prompted the formation of the first continental congress?

It was the Boston Tea Party.

Boston Tea Party it was an incident occurred in 1773 when 342 tea boxes belonging to the East India Company were thrown from ships in Boston by Americans disguised as Mohawk Indians. They were protesting against a tea tax and the East India Company monopoly. It was an important protest movement by the American colonists against British rule.

the fourth amendment protects:

"the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."  

so this would mean the denial to search and seizure without warrant or permission.
