In social interaction, regulating a conversation refers to every actions that we can make in order to control the flow of conversion into something that we favour.

This can be done with things such as cutting other people off before they finish talking (like Clarissa did to zac) , using our authority to silence our conversation partner, or even simply by using some sort of  threat.
