For instance, wood is made from biodegradable and non toxic substances. In a landfill wood will absorb moisture and break down more quickly than plastic.

On the other hand plastic takes more than 400 years to degrade.

As far as Paper is concerned, it is more eco friendly than plastic and it takes around two to six weeks to degrade or decompose in a landfill.
