Why was it likely that the colonists would obey the rules set out in the mayflower compact?

One of the benefits of majority rule systems, like the Mayflower Compact, is that it enables people to feel like they are heard and it is also easy to get people to buy in as they see an easy path to victory.

i heard they are taking it off i hope this isn't true but otherwise if it doesn't get taken off it will probably be in early december or early january of 2018-2019
