The principles of wisdom, moderation and justice are very important to your rights and responsibilities as a citizen. In order to have a real and healthy as well as functioning society, a country needs to have wise citizens , moderate and non-biased or impartial when it comes to justice.  

Explanations and definitions:

Let’s start by defining wisdom, which is to think and act using previous knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight as well. Ethics and benevolence are also related virtues. Let’s look at an example when as a citizen of a country being wise may mean learning to disagree, you can disagree with people but you also have to be nice about it. Respecting diversity and race as well as religion and beliefs. We are a nation that is absolutely full of immigrants all of us at one time or another our family have been immigrants even if you're Native American. It could have been a thousand years ago but we have all immigrated here at one time or another. This is a good example of wisdom, one must be wise to understand our responsibilities as citizens of this country, I really like the expression, “Know your past”.  

Let’s now analyze an example for moderation. First of all, moderation is the process of eliminating or lessening extremes. With moderation we can ensure normality throughout. A common use of moderation would be when we disagree for example. Let’s talk about paying taxes. I personally have never met anyone who liked paying taxes but the fact is all of us we have inherited this country and the society we live in was shaped and built by taxes. One must be moderate in this assesment. We may absolutely disagree but with some moderation we could understand that taxes do important things like roads, police and fire department services, public libraries etc. So, with a little moderation we may be able to undestand the fact that even though we may dislike and disagree with something we may agree that it is necessary for a successful society.  

And last but not least justice, it includes the attainment of that which is just and fair. The concept of justice are moral correctness, ethics, rationality, law, religion, equity and fairness. Our society guarantees schooling for us all the way up through 12th grade and also  if you are 18 years old or older, you have to register with the Selective Service. Registering with the Service doesn't mean you're going to be drafted but it is a legal requirement and one day you may be summoned to serve. Let’s assume that there’s someone who either doesn’t believe in serving or doesn’t want to register even when he is a healthy 18 year old adult. Once again this is a legal requirement and a civil duty if someone doesn’t want to serve and that someone is allowed to skip registering for the service, then everyone would want to do the same and most likely we would experience a systemic failure. Justice or moral correctness dictates that the law applies to all able adult males. Our ethics ensure that we have a functioning country by being just and impartial.
