Mesopotamians were in the need to import metal, ores and timber from other regions. In order to acquire thes resources that were mainly important as luxury items for the nobility, war weapons and naval construction and architecture, they could trade with variety of goods created by craftsmen – since textiles to pottery – agricultural products such as grains, oils, and fruits which grew thanks to the fertile lands between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers.
