It was absolutely terrible. They were whipped if they showed any sign of disobedience, they were forced to work even if they couldn't go on, and they were separated from the families that were everything to them.

Africans were forced to work all day long in the blazing heat, rainy thunderstorms, freezing cold, anything that their slavemasters told them to do was done, for it wasn't, they had a harsh punishment waiting for them.

They were forced to do everything that their slavemasters ordered, and their freedom was completely stripped away.
