They were very much  concerned about one branch of government gaining too much power; therefore, they also established a system of checks and balances. This helped in limiting the powers of each branch by the other branches.This made it sure that the powers are well balanced between the these branches. They were opposed to the development of political parties because they believed that political parties will bring disagreement that may lead to discord that is factions.
