How does the tilt of earths axis and its movements around the sun play a part in the charging of the seasons in the northern hemisphere

when the earth rotates, one hemisphere is experiencing a season, say summer, while the other is experiencing winter. IE, if the earth is tilted in a way where the northern hemisphere is facing towards the sun, it is experiencing summer. At the same time, the southern hemisphere is not facing the sun, therefore it is experiencing winter.
