Pedestrian collisions occur at any time, but the trends show that most fatalities (almost 75%) happen during the night.  

Close to 6,000 pedestrians were killed in auto-related accidents in 2016, a soar of  46%  from 2008. An analyst said, that not only are the distracted pedestrians to blame. Even distracted drivers are to blame. “Both  have to take responsibility for their behavior and put down the phone."
