How did the civil rights act of 1964 affect desegregation in the united states? it allowed the federal government to sue to integrate schools. it made it illegal to deny the right to vote on account of ethnic origin. it kept whites and african americans from living in separate neighborhoods. it allowed african americans to be part of the military draft and to vote.
