Satya Mohanty defines IDENTITIES as theoretical constructions that enable us to read the world in specific ways.

When it comes to identity, Mohanty proposed that the conjuction of ideologies, traditions and values that sustain it, inevitably bring along biases that take us further away from the classic notion of objective knowledge. However, he thought that this fact should not negate all possibility of objectivity. On the contrary, Mohanty encouraged the idea that objectivity can live alongside specific biases and identities.
