Identify three of the seven common neurotransmitters and the functions of each. then describe what each neurotransmitter controls or regulates in the body.

1. The seven common neurotransmitters are:
GABA, 
GLUTAMATE
ENDORPHIN
SEROTONIN
DOPAMINE
ACETYCHOLINE AND 
NOREPINEPHRINE.
  The three I will talk about are: GABA, glutamate and dopamine.
GABA: This neurotransmitter functions by inhibiting the firing of neurons.
Glutamate: It works by strengthening the synaptic connection between neurons.
Dopamine: It functions by regulating the area of the brain that is involved in controlling movement and the sense of pleasure.

2. GABA [Gamma Aminobutyric Acid] : The primary function of this neurotransmitter is to regulate and inhibit the neuroactivity of the neurons. The following functions are performed by GABA: It subdue anxiety. It plays a role in the female reproductive functions. It facilitates sound sleep. It is also involved in learning and memory.
Glutamate: It is the principal excitatory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system. It is involved in almost all aspects of normal functioning of the brain, such as learning, cognition, memory, etc.
Dopamine: This neurotransmitter functions in movement, memory, improve attention span and promotes feelings of pleasure.
