The desert areas are usually referred to the extensively large dry lands, comprised of dominantly sand particles. These are the areas where the temperature is very high in the day time due to the absorption of heat in the daytime and very low in the night time. These areas receives no or very little amount of rainfall and also there is lack of vegetation. The air blowing in this area is typically very warm. These desert areas covers the arid and the semi-arid type of regions on earth.

Thus, the climate of the desert region is usually very dry, hot summers and cold winters, lack of vegetation and rainfall.
