What is the difference between Centrifugal Force And Centripetal Force.

Centripetal force:

This force attracts an object at the center of its circular motion.

Gravitational force attracts the earth and all space bodies towards the sun, at the center of there orbit. So here, the centripetal force for all bodies is gravitational force.

When you start the fan, the tension force in the wings acts as Centeripetal force as the wings are not being flung out.

Note that this force changes it’s name in different Cinerios.

Centrifugal force:

This force acts as if it wants to throw an object from its circular path.

When you spin about your axis, your hands feel like they are being stretched out. This is centrifugal force.

When you spin a rock bounded by a string, you feel like the rock wants to be flung out from its circular path. This is centrifugle force. Here the tension in the string is centripetal force.

Note that this force is not an actual force, it is a pseudo force.
