A reservoir 3m from the dam in Nimba as mentioned above has two pressure gauges installed at A and B where the diameters are 20cm and 12om respectively. A is 93m above B, the pressure gauge readings have
shown that the pressure at B is greater than at A as given in the pressure analysis in question one (1) above.
Noglecting all losses, calculate the flow rate (Liter'sec) if the gauges at A and B are replaced by tubes filled
with the same liquid and connected to a U-tube containing Mercury (Hg). Calculate the difference of level of
Hg in the two limbs of the U-tube, in a vertical pipe conveying oil of specific gravity 0.68 40 pts.

Antireflective coatings on solar cells are often made by applying a thin film of silicon nitride (sinx), which has an index of refractive of 1.2, on the top of the silicon solar cell, which has a refractive index of about 3.5. however, the sun emits radiation of various wavelengths which the solar cell absorbs, and the antireflective coating can only absolutely minimize the reflection of one of these wavelengths. the coating thickness is chosen to reduce the reflection of green/yellow light (e = 2.2 ev), which is the most intense color in the solar spectrum (shown below). which of the following coatings would minimize reflection of green/yellow light? the answer is 820 nm how? what is the angular width of the central maximum of an electron traveling at 2 x 108 m/s going through a single slit of width 1 mm.

Ametal ring 4.20 cm in diameter is placed between the north and south poles of large magnets with the plane of its area perpendicular to the magnetic field. these magnets produce an initial uniform field of 1.12 t between them but are gradually pulled apart, causing this field to remain uniform but decrease steadily at 0.240 t/s . (a) what is the magnitude of the electric field induced in the ring? (b) in which direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) does the current flow as viewed by someone on the south pole of the magnet?
