Converging lenses are lenses which converge the light rays coming towards them, whereas diverging lenses are lenses which diverge the rays coming towards them. A converging lens have positive focal length.Also known as divergent lens, negative lens, concave lens or dispersive lens. A lens that causes parallel light rays to spread out – hence diverge – away from the optical axis once exiting the lens. The lens surfaces may be plano-concave, double concave or concave-convex.

Alinear relationship would look like a straight line on the graph. it could have a positive negative or 0 slope. so it could be a line potentially going in any direction but it must be perfectly straight.
