A gladiator is using a ball and chain as a weapon (assume its moment of inertia is similar to a thin hoop). The mass of the chain is negligible and it is 1.25 m in length. The mass of the ball, located at the end of the chain, is 3.0 kg. If the gladiator starts to accelerate the ball and chain from rest to 5 rpm determine (a)The moment of inertia of the ball and chain.
(b)The rotational kinetic energy of the ball and chain at 5 rpm.
(c)If it took 3 s for the gladiator to get the ball and chain up to speed, what was the average torque applied?
(d)Assuming the gladiator continues to apply the torque in a constant manner, how much power must the gladiator exert?

At 20∘c, the hole in an aluminum ring is 2.800 cm in diameter. you need to slip this ring over a steel shaft that has a room-temperature diameter of 2.804 cm . 1. to what common temperature should the ring and the shaft be heated so that the ring will just fit onto the shaft? coefficients of linear thermal expansion of steel and aluminum are 12×10−6 k−1 and23×10−6 k−1 respectively.

Assume that two of the electrons at the negative terminal have attached themselves to a nearby neutral atom. there is now a negative ion with a charge -2e at this terminal. what are the electric potential and electric potential energy of the negative ion relative to the electron? the electric potential and the electric potential energy are both twice as much. the electric potential is twice as much and the electric potential energy is the same. the electric potential is the same and the electric potential energy is twice as much. the electric potential and the electric potential energy are both the same. the electric potential is the same and the electric potential energy is increased by the mass ratio of the oxygen ion to the electron. the electric potential is twice as much and the electric potential energy is increased by the mass ratio of the oxygen ion to the electron.
