Shown in the eight figures below are toy trucks that are rolling along on tables. All of the trucks are identical. The tables they are on vary in height, and the speeds of the trucks vary. Specific values for the heights and speeds are given in the figures. Each truck rolls off the end of its table. Rank these trucks from longest to shortest, based on how long the trucks are in the air. That is, put first the truck that takes the longest time to go from the edge of the table to the ground, and put last the truck that takes the least time.

The rigid beam is supported by the three suspender bars. bars ab and ef are made of aluminum and bar cd is made of steel. if each bar has a cross-sectional area of 450 mm2, determine the maximum value of p if the allowable stress is (σallow)st = 200 mpa for the steel and ( σallow)al = 150 mpa for the aluminum. est = 200 gpa and eal = 70 gpa.

Aball is thrown from the top of a building with an initial velocity of 21.9 m/s straight upward, at an initial height of 51.6 m above the ground. the ball just misses the edge of the roof on its way down, as shown in the figure. (a) determine the time needed for the ball to reach its maximum height. (b) determine the maximum height. (c) determine the time needed for the ball to return to the height from which it was thrown, and the velocity of the ball at that instant. (d) determine the time needed for the ball to reach the ground. (e) determine the velocity and position of the ball at t = 5.35 s.

Aflask with vinegar in it has a mass of 160 grams. a balloon with baking soda in it has a mass of 40 grams. the balloon is attached to the flask to seal the opening and the vinegar and baking soda mixes. the balloon inflates to a large volume. what will the total mass of the balloon and flask be after the balloon inflates? explain. a) less than 200 grams because the solid baking soda disappears. b) 200 grams, because all the atoms remain in the balloon or flask. c) more than 200 grams because the size of the balloon is so much larger. d) less than 200 grams because gases such as the one in the balloon are lighter than solids and liquids.
