Today you are going to be practicing making predictions using the formulas we have talked about in class so far. Lets talk about the formula for momentum [p = mv]. Lets say you watched a man run and knew the mass ( m )and the velocity (V) of the man and
then calculated the momentum and your answer was p. The man then iTuns for a second time and his mass stays the same (m)
but this time his velocity was twice as fast ( 2V). What is his new momentum after the 2nd run?

Air is to be preheated by hot exhaust gases in a cross-flow heat exchanger before it enters the furnace. air enters the heat exchanger at 95 kpa and 20°c at a rate of 0.6 m^3/s. the combustion gases (cp = 1.10 kj/kg°c) enter at 160°c at a rate of 0.95 kg/s and leave at 95°c. determine the rate of heat transfer to the air and its outlet temperature.
