Turning up the Heat
When a block of ice is left out of the freezer, it will eventually melt into water. As it melts, it is gaining heat, causing its temperature to increase. Where does this heat come from? If there is more heat, will the ice melt faster? If there is less heat, will the ice melt slower? In this experiment, we are going to find out the answers to these questions. Question
The scientific question for this experiment is:
How does the temperature of the water an ice cube has been placed in affect the speed at which it melts?
