Open this atom-building simulation. The simulation allows you to make atoms from smaller particles called subatomic particles. To begin the simulation, click Atom on the home page. The X on the screen represents the nucleus, or center, of an atom. Protons, neutrons, and electrons are the subatomic particles. Drag several different particles near the X to determine where the particles belong in the model. Then answer the questions. Experiment with the simulation as you complete the activity. Click the refresh button to clear your particles.

Consider two less-than-desirable options. in the first you are driving 30 mph and crash head-on into an identical car also going 30 mph. in the second option you are driving 30 mph and crash head-on into a stationary brick wall. in neither case does your car bounce off the thing it hits, and the collision time is the same in both cases. which of these two situations would result in the greatest impact force?
