You will need a ruler and a protractor. Calculate the resultant force vector for each of the following sets of two force vectors. You will need the protractor to make sure you are redrawing each force vector in the right direction using the correct angles. The ruler is used to redraw the force vectors with the correct magnitude. After you sketch the resultant, measure the length and the direction of it. Provide the magnitude and direction, including the units, for your answers. The horizontal dotted lines are there simply to help you measure the angles with the protractor. Graph paper would help with this assignment. vector examples

Example A
In Example A the first vector is 27° with a force of 23 N. The second vector us 75° with a force of 30 N. Use 10 N = 1 cm as your scale. What is the resulting vector?
Example B
In Example B the first vector is 224° with a force of 27 N. The second vector is 123°, with a force of 32 N. What is the resulting vector?
Example C
In example C the first vector is 80° with a force of 16 N. The second vector is 144° with a force of 48 N. What is the force and degrees of the resulting vector?

Arotating space station is said to create “artificial gravity”—a loosely-defined term used for an acceleration that would be crudely similar to gravity. the outer wall of the rotating space station would become a floor for the astronauts, and centripetal acceleration supplied by the floor would allow astronauts to exercise and maintain muscle and bone strength more naturally than in non-rotating space environments. if the space station is 200 m in diameter, what angular velocity would produce an “artificial gravity” of 9.80 m/s^{2} 2 at the rim?

Awater-filled u-tube manometer is used to measure the pressure inside a tank that contains air. the water level in the u-tube on the side that connects to the tank is 5 ft above the base of the tank. the water level in the other side of the u-tube (which is open to the atmosphere) is 2 ft above the base. determine the pressure within the tank.
