A neutron with a mass of 1.67 × 10-27 kg traveling east with a kinetic energy of 2.00 × 10-21 J collides perfectly elastically with a helium nucleus with a mass 6.68 × 10-27 kg that is initially at rest. After the collision, the neutron has a kinetic energy 1.80 × 10-21 J. What angle was the neutron deflected during the collision? I am able to calculate the values of the final velocities. I just don't know what to do with the information provided and the information I calculated to get the final angle of deflection.

I understand that I can use the x and y components of momentum. However, it doesn't provide a value for the approach angle of the neutron. I tried assuming that theta of the neutron was 0 degrees so that is was simply moving along the x-axis in the positive x-direction until it hit the nucleus. However, when I then tried to solve for the theta after the collision and a resulting change in velocity the final theta came out as being undefined.

Acylinder with a movable piston contains 11.7 moles of a monatomic ideal gas at a pressure of 1.32×10^5 pa. the gas is initially at a temperature of 300 k. an electric heater adds 43200 j of energy into the gas while the piston moves in such a way that the pressure remains constant. cp=20.79 j k^−1 mol^−1 for a monatomic ideal gas, and that the number of gas molecules is equal to avogadro's number (6.022×10^23) times the number of moles of the gas. (a) what is the temperature of the gas after the energy is added? (b) what is the change in volume of the gas? (c) how much work is done by the gas during this process?
