The first thing that I did was calculate the momentume of each shape before the collisions. To find the momentum
before the collision I used thew equation p=m*v. Using
this equation I found the momentums for the triangle and
the circle. For the triangle the before momentum
was(2kg)*(4m/s) = 8kg*m/s and the circle was (6kg)*(4m/
s) =24kg*m/s. With those two shapes coliding I had to add
both of those numbers together and it would be 32kg*m/s.
Next, I used the momentum equation (p=m*v) to figure out
who's speed was found AFTER the collision which was
(32-24)= 8kg*m/s. Since the momentum before was
32kg*m/s. I subtracted the total by the circle before and
the circle after thr collision. Finally I usesd the
momentum equation, solved for v (p=m*--> v=p/m) to
determine the velocity of the circle after the collision
