A jogger with mass m= 55 kg uses energy at a rate of P = 558 W when she jogs on horizontal ground at a constant speed of s = 3.2 m/s. The efficiency of her "human engine" however, is e = 0.37. (In other words, the power used for locomotion is e = 0.37 times the total power.) Required:
a. Write an expression for the rate of energy expenditure when she jogs at the same constant speed up a slope of φ = 5.95 degrees. Assume whatever frictional or drag forces are the same in each case.
b. What is the rate of energy expenditure when she jogs up the slope, in watts?
