A pair of long, rigid metal rods each of length L, lie parallel to each other on a perfectly smooth table. Their ends are connected by identical, very light conduction springs of force constant k each and negligible unstretched length. If the current I runs through the circuit, the springs will stretch. At what separation will the rods remain at rest? Assume that k is large enough so that the separation of rods will be much less than L. Express your answer in terms of I, L, k and appropriate constants (μo,π).

Consider a u-tube whose arms are open to the atmosphere. now equal volumes of water and light oil (ρ = 49.3 lbm/ft3) are poured from different arms. a person blows from the oil side of the u-tube until the contact surface of the two fluids moves to the bottom of the u-tube, and therefore, the liquid levels in the two arms are the same. if the fluid height in each arm is 30 in, determine the gage pressure exerted by the person on the oil by blowing.

The bubbles in a carbonated soft drink are produced when carbonic acid decomposes to form carbon dioxide and water. in a closed system, this equilibrium exists as why does a carbonated soft drink lose carbonation when the container is left open? a.water evaporates, which favors the formation of h2co3. b.pressure decreases, which favors the formation of h2co3. c.the open container warms up, which causes more gas to escape. d.co2is removed, which favors the formation of h2co3.
