A hockey puck of mass m is moving in the +x-direction at speed vP1 on a frictionless, horizontal surface. It collides with a stone of mass 2m that is initially at rest. After the collision the hockey puck is moving at an angle θ measured from the +x-direction toward the +y-direction and the stone is moving at the same angle θ but measured from the +x-direction toward the −y-direction. In order for the y-component of momentum to be conserved, what must be the ratio of the final speed vS2 of the stone to the final speed vP2 of the hockey puck?
