A 200kg piano sitting on a platform 2 m high has 3920 J off potential energy. It required 4500 J of work to push the piano up a ramp to the platform. What is the best explanation for the difference between the amount of work required to move the piano and its potential energy?
A) the piano lost mass as it was pushed up the ramp.
B) energy was destroyed moving the piano up the ramp.
C) some of the energy required to push the piano up the ramp was used to overcome friction between the piano and the ramp.
D) the work required to push the piano up a ramp is greater because the force is the same as if it were lifted, but the distance is greater when using a ramp.

Air conditioners not only cool air, but dry it as well. suppose that a room in a home measures 5.0m×9.0m×2.4m . if the outdoor temperature is 30 ∘c and the vapor pressure of water in the air is 85 % of the vapor pressure of water at this temperature, what mass of water must be removed from the air each time the volume of air in the room is cycled through the air conditioner? the vapor pressure for water at 30 ∘c is 31.8 torr.
