Process of endocytosis:

Pinocytosis and phagocytosis comprise endocytosis.

Two ways that protists can obtain their food:

Protists have one of three methods of eating food. They can ingest, absorb or produce their own molecules of organic origin. Ingestive protists eat bacteria, or swallow them, and other small particles. Their cell wall and cell membrane are extended across the food item, creating a food vacuole.
