2. in corn, kernels can be purple or yellow. the dominantallele, p, produces a purple kernel. the recessive allele, p, produces a yellowkernel. so, if a kernel contains at least one dominant allele, p, it will be purple. if it contains two recessive alleles, pp, it will be yellow.
3. the corn kernels on your cob are the f2 generation and were obtained by crossingtwo f1 plants. the f1 plants were produced by crossing two parent plants, also knownas the p (parent) generation.
