the kinetic molecular theory explains the macroscopic properties of gases that can be used to understand the concepts of gas laws. i.e boyle's law, charles law.

it is used to explain the properties of solids, liquids and gases in terms of energy and forces between the particles.

there are five assumptions about kinetic molecular theory:

1) Gas particles are constantly in random straight line motion.

2) these particles are separated by large distances.

3) there is no force between these particles.

4) collisions between these particles are rapid and elastic.

5) all gases have same average  K.E energy that means the total energy remains constant.
