Explain why the planets and other objects in the solar system orbit around the sun?

If you were to have looked this up it's fairly an easy law made and created by Newton were he states: "The Sun's gravity pulls on Earth and the other planets within it's gravitational field". He is stating that due to the laws of gravity affecting motion it keeps it in a locked rotation which is usually orbital.
