are attracted towards each other because of some positive and negative charges on the hydrogen and oxygen atoms respectively.

Cohesion: It holds hydrogen bonds together in case of water. this creates surface tension on water.

High specific heat: The specific heat of water () is higher than most of the common substances.

High heat of vaporization: The amount of heat required for evaporation of an amount of water is higher than rest.

All these properties of water can be explained based on the strong bond formed between the molecules due to the presence of partial negative charge of oxygen atoms and positive charge of hydrogen atom.
