Both -8/18 and -17/27 are negative numbers and are thus less than 0, so on a number line they would appear to the left of 0, so we should only consider B and D as possible answers. Now is -8/18 is more than -17/27, this will mean that -8/18 will be located closer to 0 than -17/27 and so -8/18 would lie to the right of -17/27 - therefor the answer is D :)

The correct graph is the second one, with the points being at (-6,0), (2,0) and reaching down to (-2,-8)
