Isiah walks 3 miles due north, turns and walks 5 miles due east. how far is he from the starting point?

He is 5.83 miles away from the starting point

OK bud so were going to use the pythagorean theorem 

A^2+ b^2 = c^2

ok so basically for A it will be 3 miles were going to do 3^2 + 5^2 = c2

For B we will be using the 5 miles also what we will be doing is 9 + 25 = c^2

c will equal out to the hypotenuse which will be 34 = c^2

so then we will do c^2 = 34 then c=√34 our answer will be 5.83 miles

 

Ithink you're supposed to multiply 12.50 which is how much he makes per hour and then multiply it by each number then add whats left togrther and there's your answer
