This is more of a question about a symbol, rather than a question about a problem. i keep seeing 7√2 and i'm just wondering if the number outside of the radical is being multiplied by the square root, or if there is a deeper meaning. i can't really explain well, but if the square root of 2 is about 1.41 then would i multiply 1.41 by 7 to get 9.87?

 you would multiply 7 by √2

the general form of parabola is y=a(x-h)²+k , where vertex = (h,k)

if a> 0 parabola is opened upward.

if a< 0 parabola is opened downward.

compare the given equation with general form of parabola.

-h=2 ⇒h=-2

k=4

so, vertex= (-2, 4)

as, a=1 which is greater than 0 so parabola is opened upward and the graph has minimum.
