2. The classes at Tullar and Coolidge Elementary Schools planned separate trips to High Cliff State Park. Tullar rented and filled 2 vans and 11 buses with 236 students. Coolidge rented and filled 2 vans and 9 buses with 196
students. Every van had the same number of students in it as did the buses. Write a system of equations that could
be used to represent this situation and determine the number of students each van can carry and the number of
students each bus can carry. Be sure to write let statements to define your variables, show all of your work, check
your solutions and explain the meaning of the solution.
