Mr. Schnee is refinancing his home. His loan officer has presented him with the following two offers; it is worth noting that Mr. Schnee is expecting to move back home to Michigan in five years. Using a system of linear equations, help Mr. Schnee decide which offer to take in order to maximize his benefit. Mr. Schnee has already determined that he definitely wants to refinance as he is currently paying $1,744.67.

4.5% Interest Rate for 30 years with a monthly payment of $1,266.71 with $256 Closing Costs
4.0% Interest Rate for 30 years with a monthly payment of $1,193.54 with $10,362 in Closing Costs

You have a Circle with a Radius of 6ft; solve for its circumference and area.

You have a Rectangle with sides of 5ft and 8ft; solve for its perimeter and area.

You have a Right Triangle with side lengths of 9ft and 12ft; solve for its perimeter and area.

You have a Trapezoid that is 4ft tall with parallel lines measuring 7ft and 12 ft in length, solve for the perimeter and area.

You don't have to do anything for this section, but work on memorizing your Squares as this will be important next class.

1- is the product of two rational numbers irrational or rational? first, make a hypothesis by multiplying two rational numbers. then, use variables such as x=a/b and y=c/d and the closure property of integers to prove your hypothesis. 2- what do you think the product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is? is it rational or irrational? make use of variables, the closure property of integers, and possibly a proof by contradiction to prove your hypothesis. 3- why do we have to specify that the rational number must be nonzero when we determine what the product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is? if the rational number were 0, would it give us the same result we found in part b?
