To compare yields in Illinois and Iowa 10 counties in Illinois and 12 counties in Iowa were randomly selected. Their 2020 production of soybeans in bushels per acre were compared and the 95% confidence interval for the true mean production in bushels per acre for Illinois minus the true mean production in bushels per acre for Iowa is (-2.45, 0.47). Assume independent random samples were taken from populations that were normally distributed. Assume equal population variances.
