I say "ok" to my parents when they ask a question as a joke, but that has happened to me and it's just annoying. If you don't find it funny then don't laugh at all and don't say anything-

When someone replies "ok" and I'm trying to like make them laugh lol- it just gives me the "dead" and "dreadful" vibe.  Like- it didn't make them laugh or somethingor maybe my joke wasn't funny.  Or even- it just like makes me think- "wait- did they just like not understand my joke?"  Which gives me the "wait-" vibe.
