I have a math quiz tomorrow and I don’t understand how to simplify exponent fractions. Please simplify these two equations and explain in detail how you got this answer.

#5: 9x^6y

Basically you divide 27 and 3, then for the x you just need to subtract the exponents. The x exponent for the denominator is 1. So then it would be x^6. For y, just subtract the exponents again. So the answer would be 1. But u don’t need to leave the exponent as 1, you can just put y.
